He did it, folks! At around 9:15pm last night, Christopher swam a 1:02.49 in the 100 Breaststroke, qualifying him for the YMCA Nationals meet in Fort Lauderdale, FL in April. The National cut time is 1:02.79 so he made it by the hair of his chinny-chin-chin...oh, but wait, he had shaved his whole body yesterday so not even that! It's a swimmer thing...
Can I just tell you how happy we are for Christopher? This is something he has wanted so badly, all year, and he has worked so hard to make it happen. This is a testament to what a lot of determination and a lot of hard work will get you. O.K. so maybe his new skin tight suit had something to do with it but either way, he still had to work for it.
Good luck to all of his friends who are swimming today and going on to State next week! Swim hard, swim fast, no mercy sir!
